Welcome!
I’m Kristen Zaza: a Toronto-based content creator whose work is based primarily in audiodrama and storytelling. For seven years, I published a (mostly) weekly podcast called On a Dark, Cold Night that featured my original stories and music. Now, I continue to create and perform music, specializing in piano performance, singing and songwriting, and I continue to exercise my narration and creative writing skills in my career.
I am extremely passionate about sharing the joy of musical expression with others, working as a private music instructor, offering lessons both in-person and online. My musical instruction expertise ranges anywhere from a structured, classical approach, to more flexible and modern musical exploration. To learn more about lessons with me, click Here. I’d love to work with you!

On a Dark, Cold Night is the ideal podcast for horror-lovers with insomnia; a sinister friend to tell you bedtime/ghost stories. The podcast involves Your Narrator telling you a spine-chilling yet soothing ghost story every week. Launched in January, 2018, the show was written, performed and produced entirely by Kristen Zaza. Also a composer and musician, Kristen wrote, arranged and performed all of the music and songs in the podcast as well. It concluded its 3 season/300 episode run in May, 2025.
The podcast can be found here, or on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and anywhere you enjoy listening to podcasts. It is free to listen to; listeners interested in supporting can do so through Patreon, Ko-fi, or by buying merchandise via Bonfire. There is an extensive soundtrack from the show available for download through my Patreon page.
I’m pleased to announce that On a Dark, Cold Night is an award-winning podcast, having won several Canadian Podcast Awards (Outstanding Fiction Series, 2022; Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for a Series, 2021; Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for a Series, 2021; Outstanding Arts Series, 2020), Tuck Media’s award for Best Sleep Podcast (2020), and three Audio Verse Awards (for Best Production, Performance and Writing of a Spoken Word Production, 2019). As of July 2020, On a Dark, Cold Night became a member of the Sonar Podcast Network - more information on Sonar and their other podcasts can be found at thesonarnetwork.com.
